Position Description
Weris, Inc., a government contracting and consulting company, is seeking a Technical Editor & Grant Review Coordinator to support the development and review of grant applications in behavioral health. This role is responsible for synthesizing and summarizing grant applications into concise, high-quality summary statements while also assisting in the recruitment of peer reviewers in specialized subject matter areas within behavioral health disciplines and facilitating the review cycle.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical writing and editing experience, familiarity with the grant review process, and an ability to engage and manage expert reviewers. The role requires an analytical mindset and the ability to extract key insights from peer reviewer data to enhance future recruitment and evaluation efforts.
This is a hybrid role based in Sterling, VA, with potential flexibility for remote work.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Editing & Grant Review Support
Review and synthesize grant applications into clear, well-structured summary statements for program use.
Ensure technical accuracy, consistency, and clarity in written materials, adhering to established guidelines and editorial standards.
Maintain editorial integrity by fact-checking, revising, and formatting content to ensure it meets agency expectations.
Reviewer Recruitment & Management
Identify, vet, and recruit subject matter experts in behavioral health to serve as peer reviewers.
Maintain a database of qualified reviewers, ensuring alignment with program needs and compliance requirements.
Coordinate reviewer onboarding, training, and participation in grant evaluation panels.
Data Analysis & Process Improvement
Analyze reviewer demographics, participation trends, and expertise to identify gaps and optimize recruitment efforts.
Contribute to year-end reporting and strategic improvements to enhance the grant review process and reviewer experience.
Develop dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support program analysis and performance tracking.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in public administration, Communications, Health Sciences, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in technical editing, grant coordination, or peer review management (preferably within behavioral health).
Strong technical writing and editing skills with experience in reviewing grant applications, research documents, or scientific reports.
Familiarity with grant funding processes and reviewer recruitment within health-related disciplines.
Proficiency in content management systems and adherence to editorial style guides (GPO, APA, or AMA preferred).
Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Excel preferred) to track reviewer trends and program performance.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines, coordinate across teams, and maintain meticulous attention to detail.
