About the Role

The Company is in search of a Head of Audio and Musical Instrument Technology (MIT) to join its production team. The successful candidate will be a key member of the production team, responsible for maintaining consistent audio quality and technical reliability for the show. This role involves managing archival files, aiding in audio editing for various projects, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the audio and MIT departments. The Head of Audio and MIT will also be involved in the hiring, training, and performance management of department members, as well as ensuring the health and safety culture is upheld. Collaboration with artistic direction and production management teams is essential, and the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities is a must. Applicants for the Head of Audio and MIT position at the company should possess a minimum of 5 years' experience in a progressive audio supervisor role, with a focus on mixing live music in large-scale theatrical productions, touring, or special events. A Bachelor's degree in theatre or a related field is desired. The role requires extensive knowledge of audio systems, including experience with Digico consoles, and the ability to work with unique, custom-designed equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, as well as the ability to make sound decisions and judgments in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Proficiency in project management, and a thorough understanding of theatrical technologies are essential, as is the ability to work effectively with diverse populations and to develop and implement short- and long-range goals.
