Division of Academic Affairs – Department Dean – School of Global Journalism & Communication – Full Time – Faculty – Open Rank – FLSA Exempt – Pay Range: $75,000 to $120,000 for Assistant, $80,000 to $170,000 for Associate (based on discipline).
Job Summary The Department of Multimedia Journalism in the School of Global Journalism & Communication invites applications for a tenured/tenure track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor to teach multimedia journalism with an emphasis on interactive, visual and interdisciplinary media. The candidate will teach multimedia journalism courses, including core writing, research and reporting. The individual will engage in active learning by mentoring students, participating in field assignments and creating opportunities for students to interact with industry experts. The individual will also collaborate with faculty across disciplines and with external organizations and universities.
Qualifications Master’s Degree in Journalism or a closely related communication field from an accredited college or university. A Bachelor’s Degree with extensive journalism experience may be considered in lieu of a Master’s.
Significant professional experience strongly encouraged.
Proficiency with software programs appropriate to creating multimedia journalistic content, and the ability to design and deliver online content is a distinct advantage.
