We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Lead Audio Editor/Engineer to oversee the full audio production for The Mel Robbins Podcast. This role combines technical expertise with creative direction to ensure all audio deliverables meet the highest standards of clarity, consistency, and impact. As the lead, you'll manage workflows, maintain quality control, mentor junior editors and freelancers, and collaborate closely with producers, hosts, and creative teams to deliver an exceptional listening experience. This person will play a meaningful role in the creation of captivating sponsored content that inspires and motivates millions of people around the world.

Responsibilities
- Audio Editing & Mixing
- Edit and mix raw recordings into polished final products (podcasts, trailers, ads, promos, etc.).
- Ensure consistency in sound quality, leveling, EQ, compression, and mastering across projects.
- Remove unwanted noise, filler words, and distractions while preserving natural flow.
- Creative Audio Design
- Integrate music, sound effects, and transitions to enhance storytelling and emotional impact.
- Collaborate with creative leads to develop and maintain brand-specific sonic identity.
- Leadership & Workflow Management
- Lead the audio post-production process from intake to delivery.
- Build and optimize systems for efficient editing, version control, and asset management.
- Mentor and review work of junior audio editors, providing feedback and training.
- Oversee scheduling and ensure deadlines are consistently met.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with producers, directors, and cross-functional teams to align audio with creative vision.
- Provide technical guidance during recording sessions when needed.
- Advise on best practices for remote and studio recording setups.
- Quality Control & Innovation
- Uphold highest standards of sound design and audio engineering.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, tools, and emerging technologies.
- Implement new techniques to continuously improve efficiency and quality.
Qualifications
- 5-7+ years of experience in audio editing, mixing, and mastering, ideally in podcasts, media, or entertainment.
- Expert proficiency with DAWs (Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, Logic Pro, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of audio restoration, noise reduction, and mastering tools (iZotope RX, Waves, etc.).
- Proven experience leading or managing audio production workflows.
- Keen ear for detail and storytelling through sound.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Experience collaborating with creative teams in fast-paced environments.
Preferred Skills
- Background in music production, sound design, or broadcast engineering.
- Experience with spatial audio, Dolby Atmos, or immersive formats.
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Monday.com).
- Understanding of copyright/licensing for music and sound effects.
