Geospatial and Cloud Analytics (GCA) is seeking an AV Engineer to install, configure, and maintain a wide range of audiovisual systems and components in support of enterprise and event-based requirements. This role involves installing, pulling, terminating, and testing AV cables, connectors, and interfaces; mounting projection screens, displays, and speakers; and wiring AV racks based on technical drawings and blueprints. The AV Engineer ensures high-quality system performance through rigorous testing, analysis, and corrective actions on AV systems, networks, hardware, and software. This position requires strong technical expertise across multiple AV platforms and technologies, as well as the ability to manage and execute installations at customer sites and support offsite events as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, and test all types of audio visual (AV) cables, connectors, and interfaces.
  • Mount, configure, and integrate AV components including projection screens, displays, speakers, microphones, and control systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to assemble and wire AV racks.
  • Manage AV system installations using various models and makes of professional-grade AV equipment.
  • Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and performance verification to ensure proper operation and compliance with technical specifications.
  • Perform system analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve issues related to AV systems, networks, and hardware/software components.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation on all installations, configurations, and maintenance activities.
  • Support up to ten (10) offsite events per year within a 50-mile radius of the primary duty station, providing onsite technical setup, testing, and operational support.
  • Adhere to DoD, DLA, and security compliance requirements in all AV operations and configurations.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant AV engineering experience, including installation, testing, and maintenance of complex AV systems.
  • Proven experience in reading blueprints and wiring AV racks.
  • Demonstrated understanding of AV system integration, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance procedures.
  • Knowledge:
    • Thorough understanding of AV cabling, connector types, and interface standards.
    • Strong working knowledge of testing methodologies and performance analysis across systems, networks, hardware, and software.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certifications in AV or IT systems preferred.

Security and Certification Requirements

  • Sensitivity Level: IT-II – Critical Sensitive
  • Security Clearance: Secret (must possess or be eligible to obtain)
  • DoD 8570 Baseline Certification: IAT Level II (e.g., Security+ CE)
  • Client Approved CE Certification:
    • Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) IT Support (100-140)
    • Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) Networking (100-150)
    • Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) Cybersecurity (100-160)
