Job Title: Senior Floating Community Manager - Market Portfolio
Location: Houston, Texas
Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced Senior Floating Community Manager to oversee a dynamic portfolio of multifamily communities across the Houston market. The ideal candidate is a proven leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, excels at team development, and can step into various communities to provide operational stability, leadership, and strategic guidance.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring that each assigned property meets or exceeds performance goals, maintains compliance with company policies, and delivers an exceptional living experience for residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site management coverage and leadership for multiple properties as assigned.
  • Oversee daily operations, leasing, resident relations, financial performance, and maintenance coordination.
  • Ensure each community operates in compliance with company standards, policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Train, mentor, and support community staff to drive high performance and consistency across sites.
  • Monitor occupancy, renewals, and collections to meet financial and operational goals.
  • Review budgets, financial reports, and performance data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Partner with regional leadership to implement best practices and resolve property-level challenges.
  • Serve as the go-to leader for transitions, openings, and special assignments within the Houston portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years of property management experience, with at least 2 years in a multi-site or floating management role.
  • Proven ability to manage financial performance, leasing operations, and resident satisfaction.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to train and motivate teams.
  • Working knowledge of Fair Housing laws, property management software (Yardi, RealPage, etc.), and Texas property management regulations.
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel to various properties within the Houston area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing market-rate multifamily communities.
  • CAM certification or equivalent professional designation.
  • Demonstrated success improving property performance metrics across multiple sites.
