Job Description In this role, you will be responsible for designs of significant scope and impact. Your ability to work independently with limited direction, communicate effectively with team members in disparate geographic locations, and provide leadership and direction will be keys to your success. Primary Functions Understand piping system components, materials, and standards to develop complete and accurate piping system drawings, from one line schematics to two line production drawings. Understand industry standards for types and applications of engineering drawings. Have strong knowledge of AutoCAD software applications, ShipConstructor experience, and their cross functionalities and integration potentials. Plan and direct all aspects of piping system design activities for projects. Monitor, review, and approve all piping system designs, ensuring compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements. Utilize best practice measures and provide expert technical guidance for design activities and initiatives. Ensure all activities conform to the organization’s policies and objectives. Incorporate components, materials, and tools that result in cost-effective and quality output. Develop system designs for vessels under construction, liaising with vendors and supporting design solutions on warranty issues. Review and distribute design notices related to modifications and documentation in drawings. Optimize design activities to support production. Secondary Functions Assist procurement and AX team by delivering BOMs for RFQs and RFIs. Assist BD team in responding to RFPs and RFIs. Travel to conferences and trade shows. Education/Experience Technical competencies, skills, and experience required: Associates degree in drafting design or equivalent experience; 5-7 years of drafting experience preferred. Drafting and design skills with marine vessels and systems. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Windows, Office; ShipConstructor skills preferred. Mechanical and technical knowledge.
