Overview
Warby Parker is seeking an Optical Assistant Manager to join our in-house Optical team. You will lead the store’s Opticians, consult with customers as needed, and coach the team to deliver exceptional eyewear experiences. What you’ll do
Optical duties
- Work directly with customers to help meet all of their eyewear needs
- Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear, and execute these details with flawless accuracy
- Check that finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements
- Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers
Leadership responsibilities
- Report to the Store Leader, help anticipate staffing needs, and oversee Optician Apprentice Program participants
- Manage a team of Opticians by giving and receiving feedback, conducting development conversations, and leading by example on the floor
- Uphold exceptional service standards and implement retail experience programs to increase customer loyalty and engagement
- Stay up to date with HR policies to promote a productive, safe store culture and leverage resources to boost engagement and job satisfaction
- Support general store systems, inventory databases, and business operations
Who you are
- A licensed dispensing optician in licensing states (or an ABO-certified optician in non-licensing states) with 2+ years in a management position
- A strong leader and mentor who drives optical metrics and adheres to strict optical standards
- Professional and open-minded when making decisions for the team
- Passionate about eyewear and retail
- Clear and effective communicator who can simplify technical terms for customers
- Dedicated to going above and beyond to make customers and teammates happy
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Someone who takes work seriously, but not themselves
- Not on the Office of Inspector General’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)
