The role you’re interested in

You will collaborate with the Art Director to elevate the creative output and graphic design capability within our services team. You will work hands-on with a wide range of graphic projects and media, using software including AI and standard design and presentation tools. You’ll obtain input from managers to ensure designs meet organizational standards and brand expectations and represent the company appropriately. You will work independently and with brand team leads to meet deadlines, stay within budget, and schedule project implementation across multiple simultaneous projects.

The work environment

We are a HYBRID workplace. If you’re based in the greater Bay Area you’ll come to Emeryville on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with all-company meetings and close to 200 colleagues. Our office supports in-person collaboration and culture building.

Location and pay: Emeryville/Oakland/Berkeley area; expected pay scale $105k to $115k, varies by experience, geography, and internal equity.

What you’ll be doing

Creative Execution: 65%

  • Translate strategic direction into high-quality design within an established brand identity
  • Develop concepts and execute original content by determining the ideal usage of color, text, font style, imagery, and layout
  • Manage the design and uploading process for reviews with project managers and final production needs

Production Execution: 20%

  • Adapting/updating digital assets for ecommerce, website, and email creative
  • Creating/updating marcomm materials based on templates or previous versions
  • Ad hoc image resizing requests, occasional packaging light updates
  • Packaging proofing and press checks; travel to print vendors may occur

Daily tasks: 5%

  • Examine existing processes, identify flaws, and create improvement solutions
  • Update internal design file databases and coordinate photography assets
  • Participate in on-site growth opportunities and learning

Requirements

  • Exceptional creativity and innovative design skills
  • Five or more years of experience with design software (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Word, PowerPoint) at an advanced level
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills for deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Desire to continue building skills through education and training
  • Exceptional relationship skills and experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to thrive with multiple projects and deadlines, including international projects

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Graphic Design or related experience

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of professional design experience (agency or in-house)
  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop/InDesign and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Hands-on design work within a brand guide; adaptable to evolve the guide
  • Experience with digital CMS and email systems is a plus
  • Adobe Firefly and Generative AI experience a plus
  • Packaging design and production knowledge a plus
  • Ability to attend press checks periodically

  • Ability to create assets for print and digital in a fast-paced environment
