Overview

Retail Store Visual Merchandiser at Ashley Furniture Industries is responsible for designing and executing visually appealing store merchandise displays under the direction of Visual leadership. The position remerchandises displays, signage, point-of-sale and other areas to maximize product sell-through, completes showroom recovery processes and manages incoming merchandise receipt and new product placement to ensure an exceptional store experience for every guest. The Store Visual coordinates, designs and displays all store merchandise to aid in generating and promoting the sale of furniture and accessories. Maintains the store interior and audiovisual impact and supports merchandising strategies aligned with the Company’s goals of a simple, enjoyable shopping experience. The Store Visual implements a merchandising strategy that contributes to sales volume and financial objectives.

Responsibilities

• Execute visually appealing and balanced store merchandising displays under the direction of Visual leadership; coordinate layout plans for furniture, lighting and accessories and transition seasonal products.
• Remerchandise displays, signage, point-of-sale and select areas regularly to maximize product sell-through; communicate with Visual management on items that have sold.
• Complete store recovery throughout the day; maintain interior and exterior appearance; initiate repair and maintenance of lighting, fixtures, paint, flooring, etc., with store management.
• Check in and unpack accessory merchandise and other product shipments; coordinate product tagging and showroom placement; participate in bi-annual inventory process.
• Adhere to visual merchandising standards and bulletins; ensure audio/visual items comply; communicate standards to store associates and involve them in visual maintenance.
• Develop knowledge of all Company products, promotions and store functions; stay up-to-date on fashion styles and trends.
• Mentor store staff on merchandising basics; involve staff in visual maintenance and communicate standards.
• Coordinate with the store manager regarding regular tasks, visual needs, incoming product, POS materials, etc.
• Demonstrate the Company’s Core and Growth Values in all job functions.
• Coach and train new and existing visual team members; assist in new store openings as needed.
• Submit orders for tools and supplies as needed.
• Learn the furniture retail industry and Company products and positioning, as well as processes and procedures.
• Maintain reliable attendance; participate in departmental meetings, training and education; assist with training other employees and providing backup.
• Complete other assignments and special projects as requested.

Qualifications

• Experience in visual merchandising or store merchandising preferred; ability to design, implement and maintain merchandising displays.
• Strong knowledge of product trends, promotions and store operations; excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to coordinate with store leadership to plan and execute merchandising needs; attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Flexible and able to travel to store locations as needed for openings or training (if applicable).
