Compunnel Inc. is hiring: Manufacturing Technical Writer in Hemlock

Technical Writer — 6 months contract

Overview

This position is on W2 only and no sponsorships are provided. Location: Hemlock, MI. Duration: 6 months contract. This is a Manufacturing environment role requiring strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Create clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation of processes and equipment for engineers, technicians, trades, or operators, including standard operating procedures, preventative maintenance procedures, and training documents.
• Collaborate with a multi-functional team (mechanical, electrical, controls, facilities, IT, operations, etc.) to collect data and information for developing documentation in a new manufacturing facility.
• Coordinate and train a small group of junior technical writers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, or STEM field is preferred, but candidates with extensive experience will be considered without the degree.
• 5+ years as a Technical Writer in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience as a Technical Writer (or in a similar role) in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to understand complex technical information and translate it for non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat or similar documentation software.
• Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
