M Social Hotel is designed to be a landmark hotel for Millennium Hotels and Resorts. The project is being developed in conjunction with Lakeside Apartments along with a public park and lake that connect the two projects. The design of the hotel offers a visually striking refuge for travellers. The massing steps down towards the East for improved views, while allowing natural light into the core of the hotel. The first floor offers a restaurant, bar, lounge, pre-function space, multiple meeting rooms, two ballrooms, commercial kitchen, and a centrally located courtyard that connects the common areas. The hotel provides 263 keys and, in addition to the first floor, offers visitors a fitness centre and outdoor lounge. Sitting close to the 101 Freeway, the hotel will serve as a convenient option for travellers arriving from nearby San Jose Mineta International Airport.

Description Of The Position The Director of Sales & Marketing has direct oversight of the Sales and Marketing operations of the hotel. Responsibilities include the Sales and Marketing Budget/P&L, revenue forecasting, advertising, marketing, developing and writing business plans and participation in ownership meetings. Additionally, this role leads the development and implementation of both short-term and long-term strategies in all sales and marketing channels to achieve the hotel's revenue goals and increase market share performance.

The Director of Sales & Marketing leads a varied and experienced team of Sales Managers and administrative staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting and hiring of all sales positions, training, supervising and coaching managers in their selling and servicing processes in order to meet established goals and maximize hotel revenues. The DOSM will implement and monitor all transient and group contractual agreement procedures such as rate and meeting space commitments. Other responsibilities include overseeing the management of retaining, reactivating and acquiring accounts. The Director of Sales & Marketing reports directly to the General Manager with oversight from the Vice President of Sales/Operations. Additionally, the DOSM plays a key part in interacting with the convention bureau and other local hospitality related stakeholders.

Requirements

3 years or more in a role of Director of Sales & Marketing in a large upscale full-service hotel preferably with knowledge of local, national, North American and international markets

Demonstrated history of success

Results driven, energetic and focused

Service oriented style with professional presentation skills

Possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, proven track record in high volume environment, excellent communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line

Clear concise written and verbal communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and general computer skills

Personal Qualifications As an integral member of the hotel, the candidate must exemplify the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and discretion. This individual should be highly confident of their abilities and be considered a detail-oriented person who can tackle complex assignments. The candidate should be a consummate team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills up and down the organizational chart. They must be a leader, directing a group towards a common vision. Being highly credible, while possessing a healthy sense of humour and engaging demean our will complement the candidate's professional skills.

Salary: $185,000.00 - $311,250.00
