Job Purpose This is an exciting opportunity to join the BBC Studios Los Angeles Communications team and gain hands‑on industry experience in our Los Angeles production office. The Communications Coordinator will play a key role supporting a wide range of communications activities across our LA Productions business, which produces award‑winning scripted and unscripted content for every major U.S. network and streamer. The role supports internal and external communications, including press announcements, publicity campaigns, talent relations, event logistics, and participation in industry conferences, award shows, and branded activations. The ideal candidate is highly organised, detail‑oriented, and thrives in a fast‑paced, creative environment.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Communications & Publicity
Support the execution of communications campaigns across BBC Studios LA Productions’ portfolio.
Assist in drafting and proofreading communications materials, including press releases, talking points, bios, and social copy.
Research and develop media lists using platforms such as Muck Rack; assist with media outreach opportunities.
Monitor and compile press coverage; maintain up‑to‑date coverage reports and press databases.
Maintain key calendar milestones (e.g., series launches, premiere dates, and announcements).
Events & Awards
Support planning and on‑site logistics for press events, screenings, panels, award shows, and industry conferences.
Assist with executive and talent coordination, including red carpet arrivals, photos, and travel logistics.
Track submissions and award entries and nominations across all genres.
Compile and organise creative assets for events and marketing materials.
Talent Relations & Internal Communications
Provide on‑set support for interviews, photo shoots, and press opportunities.
Maintain positive relationships with internal teams (production, marketing, and creative) and external partners (networks, press, publicists, vendors).
Help manage and update the internal LA Productions site with new show assets and communications content.
Assist with talent and executive gifting.
Assist with BBC Studios internal culture and engagement events, including coordination, guest management, and communications support.
Administrative & Organizational
Organise and maintain digital communications files and tracking systems.
Assist with vendor onboarding, expense tracking, and meeting coordination.
Proactively communicate timelines and updates to ensure smooth project execution.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Training
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media, Public Relations, or related field.
1–2 years of relevant experience in communications, PR, marketing, or entertainment.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Highly organised, deadline‑oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
Strong attention to detail and proofreading abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
Self‑starter with a collaborative, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach.
Preferred Experience
Experience with media monitoring and analytics tools (Muck Rack, TVEyes, Cision, Canva, WordPress, PR Newswire).
Familiarity with the entertainment industry press, awards, and event production.
Knowledge of BBC Studios’ brand and programming is a plus.

Compensation The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $70,000 to $75,000. The actual base salary offered depends on the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and geographic location of the position. This range is not inclusive of a competitive bonus, flexible, hybrid working schedule and benefits including 100% BBCS covered medical & dental insurance, vision, & 401k match.
