In-Vehicle Product Designer at General Motors (GM). This role is hybrid and requires reporting to Warren GM Global Technical Center three times per week at minimum. Relocation benefits are available where eligible. Role Summary
GM Human Interface Design - Vehicle Studio is looking for an experienced Designer who is passionate about collaboration across design, software, and engineering teams. You will drive consistency, quality, and scalability across brand experiences by managing UI libraries, supporting designers, and collaborating cross-functionally. This role serves as a bridge between brand-specific needs and governance standards, ensuring design execution aligns with system-wide principles while maintaining brand integrity. Key Responsibilities
UI Library & Component Management: Manage UI libraries and templates; ensure UI components are scalable across programs, regions, and display scopes; communicate library updates and changes to relevant teams. Design Consistency & Quality: Review new features and resources with designers to ensure quality and consistency; flag and resolve deviations from design system standards in collaboration with governance; champion UI excellence and high-quality delivery. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, engineering, and QA teams to ensure UI quality and alignment; support cross-functional alignment to maintain a unified design language. Product Expertise & Support: Act as a program and generation expert with deep understanding of display configuration, framework, and historical decisions across vehicle generations; provide guidance on implementation and compliance considerations. Qualifications
5+ years of experience in product design, UX/UI, or design systems. Formal degree in Interface Design, Visual Design, or related discipline. Strong understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices. Experience building and maintaining design systems in Figma, including component architecture, variants, and documentation. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams to ensure design-to-code alignment. Excellent communication and facilitation skills across disciplines. Additional Information
