Responsibilities
Knowledge and safe use of hand tools and power tools.
Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Following safety policies and procedures.
Actively participating in daily safety and work briefings.
Installation of various types of low‑voltage cable.
Managing small to large projects with 5 or more persons at one or more locations.
Conferring with senior management, supervisory personnel to resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
Scheduling the project in logical steps to budget enough time required to meet deadlines.
Interpreting and explaining plans/specifications to field workers.
Knowledge of BICSI and TIA/EIA standards for proper install and termination procedures.
Terminating, testing, troubleshooting low‑voltage cabling (fiber optics, Cat 5, Cat 6).
Installing various pathways and cable trays.
Installing telecommunications devices, prefabricated components, assemblies, and grounding systems.
Training and supervising technicians/apprentices to facilitate installation while following drawings and specifications.
Performing quality assurance checks to ensure cable install meets all requirements.
Maintaining a clean work area and participating in job‑site cleanup.
Securing company tools and materials daily.
Identifying all tools and equipment required for each crew (gang box assignments, tool inspection, tracking by signing sheet).
Ensuring each crew activity has information packages (contract drawings, shop drawings, panel schedules, cut sheets, etc.).
Submitting daily hour/unit reports for assigned crews (standard time sheet).
Qualifications
8+ years prior experience in the commercial communications industry.
High school diploma or GED required.
BICSI Technician credential.
Valid driver’s license; may require use of company vehicle.
Acceptable driving record per company policy.
Successful background check and drug test.
Reliable transportation to and from jobsite.
Ability to pass a basic telecommunication knowledge test.
Consistent punctuality and teamwork to maintain a safe work environment.
Dress shirt covering shoulders by six inches; long pants required (not provided by company).
Provide basic tools from the provided tool list prior to first day of employment.
Additional client background check may be required.
Travel Up to 25% travel may be required.
Physical Abilities
Lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 pounds; proper lifting techniques required.
Relocate a 12‑foot stepladder without assistance.
Work at heights up to 60 feet; ability to use scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and ladders.
Regular routine of walking, climbing, lifting, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead.
Good vision (corrected or uncorrected) and hearing; able to read and understand information in English.
Detect and recognize potential problems, but not required to solve them.
Apply general rules to specific situations to produce sensible solutions.
Combine information to form general conclusions.
Near‑field visual acuity (within a few feet).
Listen to and understand spoken words and sentences.
Desired Skills
Desirable to obtain BICSI Technician certification.
Manufacturing certifications and/or fiber certification.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications.

Salary: $75,000.00 – $150,000.00
