Position Summary

The Restaurant Expeditor (Expo) serves as the vital link between the kitchen and front-of-house staff, ensuring each dish leaves the kitchen accurately, promptly, and beautifully presented. This role demands speed, organization, attention to detail, and effective communication. The Expo plays a key role in maintaining a seamless and polished dining experience, especially in high-volume or fine dining environments.

Key Responsibilities

Order Management & Communication Coordinate the flow of orders from servers to kitchen staff. Ensure all food items for each table are completed simultaneously and correctly. Communicate modifications, allergies, and timing needs between kitchen and servers. Quality Control & Presentation

Inspect plates for accuracy, consistency, and presentation before releasing to servers. Confirm garnishes, sauces, side items, and temperatures are correct. Ensure all guest specifications and dietary requests are followed precisely. Expo Line Operations

Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked expo station. Set up and break down the station each shift in accordance with cleanliness standards. Team Collaboration

Communicate clearly and calmly with line cooks, servers, and managers during peak periods. Support a culture of hospitality and efficiency. Step in to assist with running food to tables if needed. Skills & Qualifications

Prior experience as an Expo, Line Cook, or Server in a restaurant or club environment preferred. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented with a sharp eye for presentation and order accuracy. Able to work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with POS systems and kitchen ticketing processes a plus. Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand for long periods and move quickly. Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. Comfortable working near heat, cold storage, and kitchen equipment. Work Schedule

Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Shifts may include split shifts or extended hours during special events or high season.
