Assignments
Assignments will include teaching Public and Effective Speaking classes. Additional duties may be assigned by supervisor.
Typical Duties
- Teaching responsibilities include guiding students to develop communication skills such as speech organization, outlining, delivery, audience analysis, and learning how to critique speeches.
Other Duties
- Works with Communication Lab Director to promote and support public speaking related events.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in public speaking as well as teaching the theory and craft of public speaking.

- Possess knowledge of general written standards and procedures utilized, and have the ability to read, interpret, and follow procedural and policy manuals related to the job tasks.
- Demonstrate ability to respond to supervision, guidance and direction in a positive, receptive manner and in accordance with stated policies.
- Provide a quality student experience by creating a welcoming and supportive environment.
- Present a professional image in word, action, and attire.
- Apply effective techniques to create working relationships with others to achieve common goals; successfully communicate and collaborate with others to achieve goals.
