Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in design, marketing, or communications.
- High level design experience with 3-5 years of professional experience and a track record of achieving project goals and meeting the expectations of internal clients.
- Outstanding communication and team‑building skills, and a solid understanding of the creative and editorial process and ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Adobe suite and design power user.
- High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information, and an appreciation for the Jesuit Catholic tradition and the mission of John Carroll University.
- Interest in understanding and supporting John Carroll’s mission to inspire individuals to excel in learning, leadership, and service in the region and in the world.
- Ability to occasionally work nights and weekends when assigned.

- Prior experience in a higher education environment.
- Experience with internal and external communications planning and execution.
- Embracing and being committed to diversity.
- Web design and CRM experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the AVP of Marketing to deliver the vision and execution for John Carroll University’s branding and visual identity across web and print.
- Manage creative services projects across a wide range of communication vehicles for IMC, including all enrollment and marketing deliverables such as print pieces, web pages/landing pages, digital ads, illustrations, video ad design, slide decks, viewbooks, brochures, traditional ads, and billboards.
- Collaborate with IMC’s external agency of record as needed.
- Collaborate with the IMC Project Manager to create timelines and understand client objectives for internal and external projects.
- Organize and maintain design files, shared assets and brand templates in Google Drive.
- Support website design.
- Serve as the primary contact for all design services.
- Work with university stakeholders on environmental signage and designs within exciting and new campus spaces.
- Strategize and execute all academic marketing projects across the Boler College of Business, College of Health, and College of Arts and Sciences.
- Supervise and/or mentor junior designers.
- Support the president’s office and senior leaders with design and PowerPoint (Google Slides) presentations as needed.
- Attend and support campus events and seasonal enrollment events (occasionally on a weekend).
- Other duties as assigned.
