Overview

A global freight forwarder is seeking a Customs Entry Writer to manage import documentation, classifications, and regulatory compliance for air and ocean shipments. The successful candidate will join a high-performing customs brokerage team and gain hybrid flexibility after the initial on-site training period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and transmit import entries in ACE and ABI for all transport modes.
  • Accurately classify goods under HTSUS and ensure valuation and duty assessment compliance.
  • Coordinate with importers, carriers, and CBP to resolve holds, exams, and documentation issues.
  • Process PGA filings (FDA, USDA, EPA, Fish & Wildlife) and maintain complete entry documentation.
  • Ensure all procedures comply with 19 CFR, CBP regulations, and internal SOPs.
  • Collaborate with operations and account management to ensure timely clearance and billing accuracy.
  • Support post-entry amendments, audits, and compliance improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of U.S. import customs experience within a licensed freight forwarder or customs broker.
  • Strong knowledge of HTS classification, PGA requirements, and customs entry processes.
  • Experience using CargoWise, Descartes, or similar customs systems.
  • High attention to detail, strong communication skills, and consistent compliance record.
  • Stable work history within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
