UX Research Manager, Search – Google
Join Google’s Search team as a UX Research Manager to lead research efforts that shape product strategy and improve user experience across Google’s search products.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience conducting UX research on products.
- 3 years of experience leading design projects and managing people or teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Human‑Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology or related field.
- 7 years of experience working with executive leadership (e.g., Director level and above).
- 5 years of experience managing projects and working in a large, matrixed organization.
- Experience with quantitative research methodologies, including building and leading quantitative research teams and partnering with Data Science.

Google’s UX leaders help define and drive the future of user experience. As a UX Research Manager, you will guide a team of researchers, work closely with product leaders, and use qualitative methods—field studies, interviews, diary studies—to inform product decisions. You will collaborate across UX, Engineering, and Product Management to create innovative experiences for billions of users worldwide.
The US base salary range is $178,000‑$265,000 plus bonus, equity and benefits.

- Own project priorities in alignment with larger product goals and oversee allocation of resources.
- Drive ideas to improve products and services through research‑driven insights and recommendations.
- Lead teams to define and evaluate product, service, ecosystem impact.
- Own goal and strategy discussions through research by consolidating user and product insight.
