Job Summary:
The Interior Designer II is a mid-level design professional responsible for contributing to the development of interior environments through all project phases - from concept design to construction administration. This role requires a balance of creativity, technical skills, and project coordination abilities. The designer works both independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, under moderate supervision.
Primary Essential Functions: Participate in the conceptual and schematic design process, contributing creative ideas, space planning, and material selection. Develop design presentations including mood boards, renderings, finish palettes, and graphic narratives. Prepare detailed furniture layouts, finish plans, and interior elevations. Assist in maintaining design intent throughout documentation and construction. Produce accurate, coordinated, and detailed drawings using Revit or AutoCAD. Prepare finish schedules, specifications, and product documentation. Coordinate with architectural and engineering teams to ensure design integration. Review and redline drawings for quality control and consistency. Research and evaluate materials, furnishings, and lighting for performance, sustainability, and budget alignment. Prepare and coordinate FF&E packages, including procurement documentation when applicable. Understand building codes, ADA requirements, and relevant interior design standards. Contribute to cost estimating and value-engineering discussions. Work closely with Project Managers, Architects, and consultants throughout design and construction phases. Attend client meetings, prepare meeting notes, and follow up on action items. Coordinate with vendors, manufacturers, and contractors during specification and installation phases. Participate in site visits and punch list reviews to ensure design intent and quality. Present design concepts and materials to clients with clear communication and professionalism. Support senior designers in client relationship management. Mentor and support junior designers or interns through reviews and feedback. Demonstrate accountability and initiative in managing assigned tasks and deadlines. Secondary Essential Functions:

Work collaboratively and effectively with clients and colleagues including cross-functional teams, peers, direct reports, and leadership, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. Adapt to changing business needs and priorities, demonstrating flexibility in taking on new responsibilities and adjusting to evolving challenges. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree/Master's degree in Interior Design. 4-6 years of interior design experience in a professional firm setting Proficiency in advanced design software including Revit, AutoCAD, Enscape, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office. Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Strong understanding of space planning, construction detailing, materials, codes, and FF&E. Actively working toward NCIDQ certification or already certified. Proven experience in Commercial, Civic, Hospitality or Higher Education Physical Requirements:
Ability to remain seated for extended periods while working at a computer or attending meetings. Frequent use of standard office equipment, including computers, keyboards, telephones, and printers. Occasional light physical activity such as walking, standing, or carrying materials (up to 20 lbs.). Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, over the phone, and through written communication.
