Safal Partners is seeking a UI/UX Developer to design and implement front-end interfaces in support of a modern, user-centered digital system initiative for a federal client. The UI/UX Developer will work alongside an agile team, leading user research, wireframing, prototyping, and visual design to ensure the platform meets educator and stakeholder needs. The ideal candidate will have experience in agile software development, user experience design, accessibility, and enterprise‑level web application support, along with a strong understanding of public‑sector technology projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with product owners, UX designers, and Scrum Masters to translate wireframes and prototypes into production‑ready code
Develop responsive interfaces and modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular)
Create and customize Drupal themes and templates, leveraging Twig, Drupal’s API, and content management tools
Implement WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards, ARIA roles, and keyboard navigability
Integrate front‑end components with RESTful APIs and back‑end services
Optimize performance, cross-browser compatibility, and mobile responsiveness
Write and maintain front‑end unit and integration tests using tools like Jest, Cypress, or similar
Participate in sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement, and continuous improvement activities
Leverage analytics data (Google Analytics, Hotjar) to inform UI enhancements and usability improvements
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Agile software development environments, with active participation in Scrum teams
Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
Hands‑on experience with modern JS frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular)
Demonstrated ability to build and theme Drupal 8/9/10 sites, including templating and module integration
Solid understanding of WCAG accessibility standards and front‑end accessibility testing
Experience writing automated front‑end tests (unit, integration, end‑to‑end)
Familiarity with Git workflows, version control, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps)
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with public‑sector or education technology projects
Familiarity with Texas Education Agency branding guidelines and data‑confidentiality policies
Background in usability testing, contextual inquiry, and user‑centered design research
