Plumbing Designer – Commercial Projects
Location : Atlanta, GA
We are seeking an experienced Plumbing Designer to join our team and support large-scale commercial projects. In this role, you will utilize AutoCAD and Revit to develop plumbing system designs that meet project specifications, building codes, and industry best practices. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex projects while contributing to a collaborative and specialized team.
Key Responsibilities
Design and layout plumbing and fire protection systems for commercial projects.
Prepare complete calculations, including water supply, storm drainage, and equipment sizing.
Develop plumbing systems such as sanitary waste and vent, stormwater, domestic water distribution, and natural gas distribution systems.
Select, size, and specify plumbing components including fixtures, specialties, and equipment.
Design and select fire protection systems and equipment.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure designs meet building codes, standards, and project requirements.
Required Qualifications
Associate’s degree or technical drafting certification.
7+ years of experience as a plumbing designer on commercial projects.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
Familiarity with applicable building codes and engineering design practices.
Preferred Qualifications
BIM coordination experience (e.g., Navisworks, BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud).
Experience collaborating with MEP firms or specialty subcontractors on large commercial projects.
