Summary

The Director, Content Marketing and Audience Engagement is responsible for developing and executing a year-round engagement strategy that drives audience growth and retention across NAB Show and NAB Show New York. This role collaborates across marketing, sales and the conference programming teams to create compelling content experiences that nurture leads, engage attendees and enhance exhibitor value. In addition, this role is responsible for marketing and communications operations.

Essential Functions

  • Lead the content marketing strategy for NAB Show and NAB Show New York’s owned media channels (website, social media and email).
  • Own content marketing, editorial strategy and audience engagement initiatives.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of articles, newsletters, videos, webinars and thought leadership that will be used to engage with prospects and alumni for NAB Show and NAB Show New York.
  • Interview senior leadership from past NAB Show and NAB Show New York to be used in articles and promoted on owned marketing channels used for audience engagement.
  • Develop content experiences across web, social, email and video to nurture leads.
  • Work closely with the VP, Marketing to ensure messaging is supported by data/insights and content that aligns with campaign objectives, audience segmentation and conversion goals.
  • Lead conference partner marketing strategies and execution.
  • Develop and execute a year-round content plan that nurtures relationships with attendees, exhibitors and industry influencers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external content creators, influencers, sponsors/exhibitors and media partners to amplify NAB Show and NAB Show New York reach.
  • Build and manage an active, engaged digital community that extends NAB Show and NAB Show New York beyond the live events.
  • Work closely with programming teams to repurpose conference sessions, speaker interviews and show highlights into digestible digital content assets.
  • Execute and oversee email nurture campaigns that keep prospects, attendees and exhibitors engaged throughout the year.
  • Build and oversee a speaker and influencer engagement program, encouraging key industry voices to amplify NAB Show messaging.
  • Work with exhibitors and sponsors to co-create content that showcases innovation and industry leadership.
  • Identify opportunities for strategic content partnerships with media brands, related guilds/unions and thought leaders.
  • Set KPIs for content performance, engagement and audience retention across platforms.
  • Leverage analytics tools to track, analyze and optimize website traffic, social engagement, email open rates and content conversions.
  • Implement SEO best practices to drive organic traffic and visibility.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or communications or related field.

8+ years of experience in a similar role using business-to-business direct marketing across digital, print and partner channels.

In depth understanding of the essential functions of customer acquisition, including identifying markets, developing communication materials and direct selling.

Knowledge of website structure, content standards and experience using CMS platforms and website analytics.

Strong analytical and organizational skills.

Ability to produce effective written communications and documents.

Ability to meet tight deadlines for ongoing projects and programs and adapt quickly to changing schedules with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Availability to travel domestically up to 5% of the time.

Preferred Education and Experience

MS, Marketing degree.

Experience working within a matrixed organization working on large scale events.

Work Location and Schedule

Availability to work hybrid work schedule which includes at least three days in the Washington D.C. office. Ability to travel domestically up to 5% of the time.
