Job Purpose This role is ideal for a highly creative and organized storyteller who thrives in fast‑paced, collaborative environments. You’ll work on a mix of editorial and branded content, producing videos that live across our website, YouTube channel, and social platforms.

This is a temporary position with the potential for a full‑time hire after a 3‑month probationary period. The pay is $7,500 to $8,000 a month for the 3‑month period, at which point an evaluation will determine a possible extension to full‑time.

  • 70% Video Editing – Crafting narrative‑driven stories with a strong sense of rhythm, pacing, and emotion. Includes color correction and delivering quick‑turn edits for social media.
  • 20% Producing / Project Management – Coordinating shoots, managing deliverables, and liaising with internal and external teams.
  • 10% Shooting – Capturing interviews, b‑roll, and product footage both on location and in studio.
  • Frequent travel opportunities for shoots and collaborations.
  • Edit a wide range of editorial and branded videos from start to finish, maintaining Hodinkee’s high visual and storytelling standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the editorial, creative, and partnerships teams to develop compelling narratives.
  • Apply color correction, deliver polished edits, and produce quick‑turn versions for social media.
  • Manage production logistics, schedules, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain organized project files, efficient workflows, and clean version management throughout post‑production.
  • Knowledge of After Effects and photo editing in Photoshop is highly desirable.
  • 2–4 years of professional experience in video editing, ideally across editorial, branded, or documentary content.
  • Strong portfolio or reel demonstrating exceptional storytelling instincts, refined pacing, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in color correction and producing quick‑turn social media edits.
  • Editorial judgment – an intuitive sense for what makes a story resonate.
  • Ability to work independently while staying aligned with Hodinkee’s creative vision and production standards.
  • Solid producing and project management skills: scheduling, communication, and versioning.
  • Comfortable handling camera, lighting, and sound for occasional shoots.
  • Passion for watches, craftsmanship, or the luxury lifestyle space is a major plus.
  • Willingness and excitement to travel for shoots and collaborations.
