Library Assistant, Jonathan Bourne Public Library (Bourne)

The Town of Bourne, an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer, seeks a qualified candidate for a Library Assistant position. The Library Assistant work includes checking library materials in to and out from the library, processing inter-library loans, searching for library materials for patrons, shelving library materials, processing new library materials, entering material records into the library database, and assisting in the planning, promotion, and supervision of events and activities for patrons of all ages; all other work as assigned.

Full/Part Time & Hours & Salary

The position is a LIUNA Unit A, Grade 2, benefited position with health, dental, vision and retirement.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Education

High School diploma or equivalent, and at least 2 years of library experience required (preferably in an automated circulation environment). In exceptional instances, specialized education training and/or experience may be substituted for part or all of the required elements. Knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Suite is required.

Salary

$22.85/hour. Starting salary for this position is $22.85 - $23.89 an hour. It is a full time position working 37.5 hours/week.
