Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Microwave Radio Technician to join our dynamic team. This role will involve the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of microwave communication systems, with a specific focus on IP networking.
Key Responsibilities
- Microwave System Installation & Maintenance:
- Install, configure, and maintain microwave communication systems and associated equipment.
- Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on microwave links and related systems.
- Ensure that all equipment is up to date and operating to specifications.
- Provide support in IP networking, including configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of IP protocols.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to design and implement network solutions as required.
- Travel & Field Operations:
- Travel to customer sites, performing installations, testing, and maintenance as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of all installation and maintenance activities.
- Generate detailed reports for completed work, including any issues encountered and solutions implemented.
- Ensure all work is completed following company safety standards and federal regulations.
- Keep up-to-date with industry standards and best practices for microwave systems and networking.
Qualifications
- Nokia and Aviat manufacturer certifications preferred.
- Strong understanding of IP networking and network configurations.
- Experience in microwave radio installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Experience working with network systems, routers, switches, and network cabling.
- Hands‑on experience with microwave communication equipment (Nokia, Aviat, or similar).
- Familiarity with tools and equipment used in the installation and maintenance of microwave and IP networks.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and documentation.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Working Conditions
- Ability to work in varied environments, including remote sites.
- Some overnight stays and long hours may be required.
