Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Microwave Radio Technician to join our dynamic team. This role will involve the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of microwave communication systems, with a specific focus on IP networking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Microwave System Installation & Maintenance:
    • Install, configure, and maintain microwave communication systems and associated equipment.
    • Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on microwave links and related systems.
    • Ensure that all equipment is up to date and operating to specifications.
    • Provide support in IP networking, including configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of IP protocols.
    • Collaborate with the engineering team to design and implement network solutions as required.
  • Travel & Field Operations:
    • Travel to customer sites, performing installations, testing, and maintenance as necessary.
    • Maintain accurate records of all installation and maintenance activities.
    • Generate detailed reports for completed work, including any issues encountered and solutions implemented.
    • Ensure all work is completed following company safety standards and federal regulations.
    • Keep up-to-date with industry standards and best practices for microwave systems and networking.

Qualifications

  • Nokia and Aviat manufacturer certifications preferred.
  • Strong understanding of IP networking and network configurations.
  • Experience in microwave radio installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with network systems, routers, switches, and network cabling.
  • Hands‑on experience with microwave communication equipment (Nokia, Aviat, or similar).
  • Familiarity with tools and equipment used in the installation and maintenance of microwave and IP networks.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals and documentation.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work in varied environments, including remote sites.
  • Some overnight stays and long hours may be required.
