Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Volunteer Grant Writer to join our development team. This role will be instrumental in helping us identify, write, and submit compelling grant proposals to secure funding for our global autism initiatives, including the expansion of SAFE and training programs for community responders and caregivers.

Key Responsibilities

Grant Strategy & Research

  • Research and identify potential funding opportunities (foundations, corporations, governments)

  • Stay current on grant requirements, deadlines, and best practices

Proposal Writing

  • Draft, proofread, and submit persuasive grant proposals and letters of inquiry

  • Customize proposals based on funding priorities and guidelines

Collaboration & Impact Storytelling

  • Work with program leads and directors to gather data and success stories for proposals

  • Ensure messaging aligns with our mission, goals, and the transformative impact of our work

Follow-up & Reporting

  • Assist in developing reports and updates for awarded grants

  • Track submissions, deadlines, and correspondence with funders

Ideal Candidate
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills

  • Experience in grant writing, nonprofit fundraising, or proposal development

  • Understanding of autism advocacy, global development, or humanitarian fields is a plus

  • Organized, deadline-driven, and collaborative

  • Passionate about inclusive education, disability rights, or neurodiversity empowerment
