Marc Jacobs International (MJ International), a leading fashion brand, seeks a Project Manager to join the Store Design team based in its New York City (SoHo) headquarters.

Overview The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the development of freestanding stores, wholesale and Pop‑ups in the United States and Canada.

Working closely with the worldwide store design team and other departments, consultants and contractors, the PM oversees projects from initiation to opening.

Responsibilities include coordinating store layout improvements, managing project budgets and schedules, liaising with Operations, Retail, Visual, and other teams, and ensuring high‑quality, cost‑effective construction and completion.

Responsibilities

Work closely with the Global Store design team in the design development of new store locations.

Develop and maintain relationships with tenant coordinators and mall managers in all applicable locations.

Coordinate transition of design documents into bid/landlord review permits with architect of record.

Review all architectural documents and drawings with Vice President, Store Planning & Facilities.

Coordinate requirements for security, telephone, and data with departments.

Obtain approvals from landlord for preliminary and working drawing reviews.

Create requests for bids as applicable for GC scope and assist global procurement in the RFP process.

Develop requests for owner vendor items such as millwork and specialty lighting and assist global procurement.

Review bid proposals and coordinate cost and schedules with vendors and contractors, maintaining project schedules.

Develop and maintain cost summary of each project through completion, including invoice review and coordination with cost controller.

Make periodic site visits before and/or during construction to ensure standards and design are met.

Attend weekly site meetings (on site or by phone) to ensure schedule and design standards are met.

Coordinate with GC and local building departments for all required certificates and inspections.

Coordinate with global store design, visual merchandising, retail and operations for store openings and support on site during transition.

Develop punch list and verify all items are corrected in a timely manner.

Request and obtain letters of lien waivers and comply with landlord’s close‑out procedure.

Develop and issue Maintenance Manual for store manager.

Assist senior managers in multi‑project budgeting and scheduling for departmental capex forecasting.

Develop Pop‑Ups with the SP of Store Design and Visual Merchandising from concept to build‑out.

Qualifications

5+ years’ experience.

Luxury retail experience required.

University degree, BA or MA in Architecture or Interior Design.

Must have proper work authorization to work in the United States.

Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint and AutoCAD.

Strong budgeting and general math skills.

Ability to meet tight deadlines.

Good understanding of design drawings and project documentation.

Attention to detail.

Knowledge of standard quality materials and construction methods.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent organizational and focus abilities.

Frequent travel required.

Salary & Benefits The compensation for this position ranges from $105,000 – $110,000 annually, dependent upon relevant skills and experience.
