Job Description
As a Principal Technical Marketing Engineer at Palo Alto Networks, you will play a key role in providing detailed technical information to partners, customers, and internal teams. You will work with cutting‑edge technology, redefining the future of cloud network security, and be responsible for protecting data, workloads, and infrastructure for some of the world’s largest enterprise customers. You will help customers transition to the hybrid cloud by ensuring they have best‑in‑class protection. Your responsibilities include reviewing product requirements documents (PRDs) and engineering specifications, providing feedback, documenting technical concepts, developing and executing marketing plans for software firewalls, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
Your Impact
Collaborate with NGFW, Cloud‑Delivered Shared Services, Strata Cloud Manager, and AI Security teams on platformization.
Own the technical marketing plan from start to finish, creating powerful tools, demos, videos, and whitepapers that position us as the market leader.
Partner with engineering and product teams to deliver high‑quality, impactful products that solve real‑world problems.
Evangelize Cloud Network Security and generative AI, establishing Palo Alto Networks as an undisputed leader through compelling messaging and demonstrations.
Design and deliver technical tools, whitepapers, demos, videos, and training that empower our sales teams, customers, and partners.
Lead automation initiatives across cross‑functional teams to ensure technical excellence and seamless product releases.
Act as a key technical evangelist, speaking at industry conferences, customer briefings, and internal seminars to share your expertise and inspire others.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Technical Marketing Engineer or DevOps/Solutions Architect, ideally in networking or cloud security.
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
Deep expertise in a major public cloud platform (AWS, Azure or GCP) and public cloud security principles.
Familiarity with SaaS products, managing SLAs and working in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
Strong knowledge of microsegmentation technologies along with KVM, VMware, and other virtualization technologies and container security.
Knowledge of AI, including deep learning, generative and agentic AI and their security implications.
Experience with scripting like Python, CFT, and Terraform is highly desired.
Knowledge of building and maintaining POC and demo environments.
Excellent communication, collaboration and presentation skills.
Compensation Disclosure The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non‑sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $159,000 /YR – $255,000 /YR.
