ICT Studio Manager Join kW Mission Critical Engineering, a division of WSP, as an ICT Studio Manager at one of our U.S. offices (Troy, NY; New York, NY; Herndon, VA; Atlanta, GA; Milwaukee, WI; or Tempe, AZ). In this role you combine hands‑on telecom design with leadership responsibilities, overseeing studio operations while contributing to mission‑critical telecommunications systems and AI‑optimized data centers. Key Focus This position is ideal for a seasoned Telecom Designer looking to expand into management while maintaining a hands‑on approach to design. You’ll lead teams, mentor telecom designers and Revit specialists, and drive high‑quality design execution. Your Impact Leadership & Team Development: Lead and mentor a team of telecom designers and Revit specialists, championing professional growth and innovation. Telecom Design & Technical Expertise: Engage in hands‑on ICT and telecommunications design, developing detailed pathways, cabling infrastructure and integrating telecom systems with other building systems. Write and edit Division 27 specifications and manage construction administration tasks. Operations Management: Oversee day‑to‑day studio operations, balancing design workloads, resources and schedules to ensure efficient performance. Project Oversight: Ensure all projects progress smoothly, meeting deadlines and budgets while maintaining quality and technical standards. Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and engineers. Design Quality Control: Conduct design reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with client and project requirements, including codes and industry best practices. Client & Stakeholder Interaction: Serve as primary point of contact for clients on design matters, representing the ICT discipline in meetings and presentations. Growth & Innovation: Drive strategic growth for the ICT design team, identifying process improvements and implementing innovations, staying current on AI‑related advancements. Who You Are You are a Telecom Designer with a proven track record of leadership, ready to step into a management role while continuing to contribute directly to design. You thrive in a fast‑paced, technical environment where you can balance design work with operational and managerial duties. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology or equivalent. 7‑10 years of experience in ICT or telecommunications infrastructure design, focusing on mission‑critical or data center environments. BCSI RCDD certification (Registered Communications Distribution Designer). Demonstrated leadership experience, including team management and mentorship in a technical design environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting to and collaborating with clients, stakeholders and internal teams. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, meeting deadlines while maintaining high‑quality standards. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in business administration, project management or a technical discipline. Experience with international projects and diverse project teams. Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, producing detailed, high‑quality models and design packages. Familiarity with BIM Execution Plans (BxP), automation and scripting tools such as Dynamo or Rhino for design efficiency. Why Join Us? We foster personal and professional growth. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $104,000 – $175,000, depending on experience, education and qualifications. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance and retirement savings plans.
