Freelance Technical Designer
specializing in women’s dresses who has experience with HSN/QVC. Salary/Hourly Rate: $35/hr - $40/hr Position Overview: This Freelance Technical Designer role will work closely with the design and production teams to ensure accurate technical specifications, high-quality garment construction, and seamless communication with vendors. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, excellent organizational ability, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities of the Freelance Technical Designer:
Create and update technical packages (tech packs) for dresses, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
Collaborate with Designers to translate creative concepts into production-ready garments.
Conduct fit sessions, record detailed comments, and ensure garment corrections are implemented.
Partner with vendors to address technical issues and ensure on-time, high-quality samples.
Manage PLM data entry and maintain accurate records throughout the product lifecycle.
Ensure all garments meet brand standards for fit, construction, and quality.
Required Experience/Skills for the Freelance Technical Designer:
Minimum of 5 years of technical design experience, specifically in women’s dresses.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, and PLM systems.
Must have experience working with HSN/QVC.
Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and trims.
Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Freelance Technical Designer:
Experience working with both domestic and international vendors.
Familiarity with garment costing and production timelines.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or a related field is required.
