Job Summary Panelmatic is seeking a detail-oriented experienced Mechanical Designer. The Mechanical Designer will create/review models and BOM’s for power distribution equipment including Metal-Clad Switchgear, Metal-Eclosed Switchgear and Panelboards.

Job Duties

Review electrical diagrams and requirements from electrical engineering

Convert electrical drawings into a mechanical package including elevations, section views and bill of material

Provide electrical engineering with mechanical components of drawing package

Release bill of material for purchasing and fabrication

Provide support to mechanical engineering team for additional drafting and modeling based on standards and existing designs

Provide support to manufacturing regarding project questions and issues

Interact with electrical engineering, and project management as required

Communicate job status, including possible issues, with supervisor

1-3 years experience in sheet metal design, with a preference for medium voltage switchgear design or UL891 switchboard

Knowledge of the typical mechanical design principles

Experience in creating 3D renderings and side views based on single line and elevation drawings

Familiarity with ANSI, ASME, NEC and UL standards

AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience preferred

Strong organizational and time management skills required

Ability to work in a multi project multitask environment with changing priorities required

Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills required

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal required

US work authorization without sponsorship required

Growth mindset with the ability to accept challenges required

Ability to physically push, pull, and lift 50lbs or more required
