About The Role Peraton is seeking a capable UI Software Engineer to influence national strategies and policies by guiding decisions on next‑generation technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), satellite navigation, and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). In this position you will directly impact the millions of passengers and aviation professionals that rely on efficient airspace operations.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with experts in government, academia, and industry to address complex challenges in modern aviation.
Contribute to research programs at premier facilities such as the William J. Hughes Technical Center.
Bridge research and operational application, ensuring solutions are safe, practical, and ready for deployment.
Conduct and guide development on technologies supporting the NAS, airport infrastructure, and air traffic management.
Lead or contribute to design, testing, and innovation initiatives for next‑generation aviation systems.

Basic Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field.
Minimum 2 years experience as a software engineer focused on user interfaces.
Experience with front‑end technologies: HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, and frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue.js, or JQuery.
Experience with back‑end technologies such as Java and Python for APIs and web services.
Experience with UX design, user‑centric concepts, and accessibility.
Prior experience in an Agile environment.
Professional software development practices: source code management, code reviews, testing.
Rapid learning of new languages and technologies.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Self‑motivated, independent, detail‑oriented, team‑player.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to FAA programs or NAS systems.
Advanced knowledge of aviation systems, UAS integration, AI applications, or satellite navigation.
Familiarity with FAA research facilities such as the William J. Hughes Technical Center.
Knowledge of FAA regulations, national airspace policies, or international aviation standards (e.g., ICAO).
Experience with front‑end testing tools: Cypress, Jest, Selenium.
Experience with AWS development: EC2, API Gateway.
Target Salary Range: $80,000 – $128,000. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses.
