Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high‑speed, high‑bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market. We are seeking a Mechanical Designer (SolidWorks) to join our team in Nashua, NH.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with product development engineers to create high‑speed cable product CAD models as per their input and feedback
Employ best modeling practices and advanced feature techniques to capture design intent, and to facilitate design changes and data reuse (expanding design concepts into product families and derivatives)
Create and maintain internal and customer CAD drawings of components and assemblies
Participate in design reviews, interface with Development, Mechanical and Signal Integrity, and Process Engineers
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors or Associates Degree in Engineering, CAD, or a related field
3‑4 years SolidWorks experience
High level of SolidWorks modeling and assembly design skills, specifically:
Advanced part and assembly features
Reference geometry and shared data
Feature patterns and copies
Surfacing, quilt operations
Top‑down design techniques
Family tables
Detailing, dimensional and geometric tolerancing (GD&T)
Familiarity with industry standard drafting and detailing practices (ANSI, ASME)
Knowledge of manufacturing technologies (stamping, molding, plating) a plus
Knowledge of Windchill PDMLink 11 or 12 a plus
Knowledge of Windows 10 operating system and standard MS Office applications
Demonstrated attention to detail, thoroughness in work, and ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work in a dynamic team environment, with minimum supervision
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently
