About Us Delmarva Design Center is a large home design showroom operating out of Selbyville, Delaware. We offer home interior design services in cabinetry, countertops, appliances, flooring, and tile. We are set up to support home builders, remodeling contractors, and homeowners looking for the convenience of making the most important home design selections under one roof. The tile and stone division aim to provide clients with comprehensive selections, expert design services and technical guidance, outstanding communication, and a seamless design-to-install experience.

Job Description This role manages the end-to-end client experience for residential and trade tile and stone projects - from concept through completion. Responsibilities will combine creativity with technical expertise and include guiding clients through material selections, producing accurate quotes, processing invoices and purchase orders, and coordinating timelines with vendors and installers to ensure a seamless project delivery. Success in this role requires strong design sensibility, professional communication, and the ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously. A high level of organization, attention to detail, and flexibility in switching between design, logistics, and client service tasks are essential.

Primary Responsibilities

Guide clients through the design and material selections process for tile and stone, providing aesthetic and technical recommendations based on project needs and budget.

Prepare detailed quotes based on blueprints, take-offs, or client provided measurements.

Communicate with vendors to verify product availability, pricing, lead times, and special-order details.

Write and process purchase orders and invoices.

Track and follow up on open quotes, orders, and backorders to ensure client satisfaction and timely delivery.

Troubleshoot and resolve product discrepancies, damage claims, or shipping issues as they arise.

Maintain professionalism under pressure and handle last-minute changes or client emergencies with calm efficiency.

Coordinate with contractors, designers, and internal departments to ensure cohesive project execution.

Manage multiple active projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, deliveries, and installation needs are coordinated effectively.

Collaborate cross-departmentally with cabinetry, countertop, and flooring teams to ensure cohesive design solutions.

Maintain showroom organization, update displays, and assist in merchandising new product lines.

Support marketing and promotional initiatives, including seasonal features, newsletter highlights, and design events.

Maintain accurate digital and physical records of orders, correspondence, and project documentation.

Assist management with reporting, sales tracking, and project pipeline updates.

Strong organizational and time-management skills with a capacity to multitask effectively.

Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable serving as the point of contact for multiple concurrent clients.

Knowledge of tile, stone, and design materials and principles preferred.

Proficiency in estimating, quoting, and order entry systems preferred (QuickBooks, Moraware, Method)

Ability to manage high-volume email communication and maintain follow-through across complex project timelines.

Ability to read and interpret design plans, elevations, and blueprints preferred.

Adaptable, detail-oriented, and professional under pressure.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)

Physical & Environmental Requirements

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally (sample boards, tile boxes, etc.)

Ability to stand or walk for extended periods in a showroom setting

Ability to sit, type, and work on a computer for prolonged periods

Occasional local travel to job sites or vendor locations may be required

Visual acuity to read plans, detailed drawings, and digital displays
