We have an opportunity in our Vonore, TN manufacturing plant for a

Summary/Purpose Perform as a key link between engineering, technical centers, and production teams. Focus on creating and managing 2D and 3D CAD drawings, supporting process documentation, and maintaining drawing databases. It also involves coordinating with Japan and technical centers to implement and uphold the JANA drawing system.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities
Prepare new 2D and 3D product related drawings
Prepare manufacturing layouts as needed.
Translate engineering concepts into detailed technical drawings.
Ensure design accuracy and compliance with industry standards
Collaborate with engineers to refine and optimize designs
Coordinate CAD system maintenance, software updates, hardware updates, and M.E. drawing database management.
Keep TS16949-compliant documentation and records related to the technical departments.
Change Control implementation, ex. Issue PCR, coordinate change implementation, follow‑up on open items.
Facilitate communication between design, manufacturing, and quality teams. Provide assistance and participate in design projects, KAIZEN activities or other industrial engineering tasks as required.
Work daily overtime and Saturdays and/or Sundays when directed by immediate supervisor or, as necessary, to complete essential duties.
Perform other duties as assigned
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in Solidworks and AutoCad. Understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics.
Strong organizational skills, able to work well under pressure and manage several tasks simultaneously
Strong geometric dimensioning and tolerance skills and knowledge.
Must enjoy challenges and meet planned deadlines
Proficient in MS Office suite, Draftsight, Solidworks, AutoCAD or CATHIA
Fundamental knowledge and experience in precision machining, assembly of mechanical components, and gauging technology as related to design
Excellent interpersonal, oral/written communications, and planning/organization skills
Understand modern manufacturing techniques used for high volume production lines of automotive safety components
Self‑motivated and able to work in a team environment, without close supervision
Basic knowledge of applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental management systems
Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science, Engineering, preferably in Mechanical Design Engineering or equivalent experience with 2 – 4-year technical degree.
AAS in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or Computer Drafting and Design preferred.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Drafting and Solid Modeling ideal.
