Principal Applied Scientist, Advertiser Growth, Amazon Sponsored Products & Brands
Join Amazon to lead innovative AI solutions for advertisers. In this role, you will work with a team of over 50 builders to pioneer agentic AI applications that drive performance for 1.6 million+ sponsored product and brand advertisers.
Key Responsibilities
Define and lead the science roadmap for developing agentic experiences for recommendations and guidance across multiple channels (Ad Console, Sales‑managed, and third‑party partners).
Develop methods for fine‑tuning, reinforcement learning, and preference optimization; create evaluation frameworks ensuring safety, reliability, and trust at scale.
Deliver customer‑facing products that help advertisers create, optimize, and grow campaigns.
Elevate scientific rigor, implement best‑in‑class algorithms, and enable rapid experimentation and scaling.
Communicate learnings to leadership, mentor applied‑AI talent, and grow the team.
Basic Qualifications
PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
5+ years of applied ML experience building customer‑facing recommender systems involving AI, ML, and NLP.
Hands‑on experience designing and prototyping AI solutions for real‑world applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Research publications or patents in generative AI technologies.
Experience with natural language processing and generative model architectures.
Background in advertising technology or e‑commerce platforms.
Demonstrated track record of innovative AI solution development.
