What You Will Do

Partner (in-person and virtually) with the office's senior leadership - Principals, Designers, and Architects - to elevate design ideas, values, and standards

Participate (in-person and virtually) in marketing and business development including proposals, interviews, and PR efforts

Stay abreast of new design trends and technologies

Innovate and solve design challenges creatively

Independently act as lead designer for a variety of complex project types simultaneously

Manage small to mid-size project teams

Collaborate with Project Managers on mid- to large-scale projects

Lead (in-person and virtual) meetings with clients including interviews / pitches, real estate tours, visioning, programming, workplace strategy and detailed design presentations

Lead all phases of project delivery from fit planning, conceptual design, design development, coordination, preparation of documents, project site tours, and construction administration, through project completion and post-occupancy studies (participate / lead in-person meetings at all phases)

Interface (in-person and virtually) directly with clients, product representatives, furniture dealers, fabricators, multidisciplinary consultants, general contractors, and building / planning agencies

Participate in cost estimate review and overall design budget analysis and management

Review design and technical drawings of other more junior designers and provide in-person mentorship

Other related duties as assigned

Your Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ownership and accountability for project- and firm-wide success

Excellent design creativity, aptitude, competence, and experience

Thought leader and innovator

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent people skills including inspirational and collaborative leadership

Ability to excel in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-based design process

Extensive knowledge of design research, workplace strategy and FF&E

Advanced understanding of corporate commercial real estate objectives

Extensive knowledge and experience in all phases of interior design / architectural project delivery

Initiate mentoring of junior staff within the office and at project site locations

Working knowledge of state and local building and fire codes related to interior environments, including accessibility a must

Extensive knowledge of CDs and procedures

Ability to work in-person in low-, mid-, and high-rise buildings on any floor

Experience working in a Citrix environment is highly desired

Autodesk Revit skills are a must

Enscape modeling skills are nice to have

Strong Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) skills are highly desired

Experience with Mural collaboration platform is a must

Office 365, Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills are a must

Hand sketching and conceptual drawing skills are a plus

Sustainable design experience, with a preference for hands-on LEED and/or WELL project participation

Your Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Interior Design or Architecture

Minimum 12 years of experience working on interior design and/or architectural projects, with a primary focus on design for workplaces, commercial interiors, and tenant improvement projects

Interior Design Certification and LEED and/or WELL accreditation strongly preferred

Candidates must have legal working status in the U.S. as Huntsman will not be sponsoring work visas at this time

Compensation, Benefits, and Perks

Compensation is based on relevant experience and qualifications. Salary for this role is estimated between $115,000 to $145,000 plus benefits
