25-26 AY Temporary Faculty Pool (Lecturer) – Studio Art, Graphic Design, and Interior Design Job No: 547574 Work Type: Instructional Faculty – Temporary/Lecturer Location: Fresno, Central California Categories: Bargaining Unit: Unit 3 – CFA – California Faculty Association, Appointment Type: Temporary, Time Basis: Part Time Department Overview The Department of Art and Design invites qualified candidates to join its temporary faculty pool. The purpose is to establish a pool from which temporary instructional appointments may teach Studio Art, Graphic Design, Art History or Interior Design. Position Summary Qualified candidates will teach undergraduate courses such as Studio Art, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Art History, and Animation, or other classes as identified to fulfill educational goals of current students. Instructor Responsibility Temporary faculty must adhere to university and system-wide policies (Academic Policy Manual 306, paragraph 2). Instructors are responsible for preparing, delivering, conducting, proctoring, and grading lectures, office hours, assignments, quizzes, projects, and midterm and final exams. All classes must be offered and meet as scheduled throughout the semester in the mode assigned (asynchronous, synchronous, in-person, or hybrid). Conditional Appointment Appointments are contingent on budget and enrollment considerations and subject to the order of assignment provisions in the CSU–CFA collective bargaining agreement. Appointees must demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States. Compensation Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience within salary range placement. The salary range for Temporary Faculty with a Master’s degree is $5,507–$6,677 per month when teaching full time (15 WTUs). Starting salaries are usually at or near the minimum of the range. Actual monthly salary will be adjusted based on the number of WTUs assigned per term. Anticipated Semester The temporary faculty pool is continuously open and positions are filled as needed based on student enrollment and funding. The pool will remain in place for two academic terms; applicants may need to be available to begin teaching on short notice. Required Qualifications Education: A Master’s degree of Fine Arts in Art, Art History, or Design. Experience Demonstrated commitment to excellence built on merit, talent, diversity, accessibility, and equal opportunity for all. Preferred Qualifications A commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, exhibited through prior teaching experiences and teaching evaluations or other evidence. Successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level. Experience teaching in a college level setting.
