We’re looking for a Design Drafter to join our client’s team in Mineral, VA. This is an on‑site role (5x8 schedule) with no per diem available, so local candidates are required.

What you’ll do:

• Prepare, maintain, and update technical documentation including P&IDs, circuit and one‑line diagrams, station drawings, maps, and charts.
• Work from designer and engineer sketches to create detailed CAD drawings.
• Draft mechanical, civil, and electrical construction drawings.
• Use MicroStation/AutoCAD to update and manage controlled drawings.
• Retrieve and issue original drawings from records management.
• Collaborate with engineers and other departments to verify information and ensure drawing accuracy.

What we’re looking for:

• 3+ years of drafting experience with strong hands‑on skills using drafting tools.
• Proficiency in CADD (MicroStation/AutoCAD).
• Ability to interpret construction estimates, technical drawings, and diagrams.
• Strong math skills for basic calculations.
• Solid communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage priorities effectively.

Preferred background:

• High school diploma or equivalency required; Associate degree in Drafting/Design preferred.
• Utilities or power industry experience strongly desired.
• Electrical drafting experience preferred (civil/mechanical knowledge is a plus).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
