Our client, a dynamic and innovative media agency, is seeking an experienced Group Media Director to join their growing team in NYC. The Group Director will lead strategy and planning, manage client relationships, and oversee a team of direct reports. The ideal candidate combines deep digital media planning expertise, a strong analytical mindset, and excellent communication skills.
Location: Newark, NJ (Hybrid). Competitive salary of $85,000–$88,000, comprehensive benefits package, and a progressive, supportive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for high‑level client relationships, understanding and advocating for their needs while continuously pushing boundaries with innovative solutions.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure seamless integration of strategy and business objectives, delivering exceptional results.
- Develop media plan recommendations that comprise tactical and high‑impact/custom activations to meet clients’ goals.
- Lead and manage reporting analysis, providing key insights, takeaways, and optimization recommendations based on campaign performance.
- Develop junior staff, guiding them through fundamentals of the planning process, including strategy, partner RFP/evaluation, negotiation, tactical plan development, reporting, optimization, and billing.
- Provide oversight on campaign performance reports and collaboratively share results across teams.
- Create frameworks to ensure team members meet growth milestones while serving as role models.
- Contribute to new business efforts and thought‑leadership content.
- Participate in Team Leadership Group meetings and work‑sessions.
- Effectively manage projects and resources to consistently meet internal and client timelines.
- Orchestrate project details while maintaining focus on big‑picture strategic needs.
Requirements
- 10+ years of media planning experience in an agency setting.
- Proven track record managing client relationships and teams, and executing successful media campaigns.
- Strong knowledge of all media channels, including 360 cross‑functional media (digital, search, social, video, content, display, print, TV/OTT, OOH, audio).
- Ability to analyze data and make data‑driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Experience with media planning software and tools (e.g., comScore, Nielsen).
