Overview

The Multimedia Designer conceptualizes, designs, and develops assets such as digital and print collateral, infographics, video and motion graphics, presentations, conference graphics, email marketing, and social media content, and is responsible for recording video as needed for multimedia projects. Base pay range

$85,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yr

The Investment Company Institute (ICI) is the leading association representing regulated investment funds, including mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), closed-end funds, and unit investment trusts (UITs) in the United States, and UCITS and similar funds offered to investors in Europe, Asia, and other jurisdictions. ICI also represents its members on issues involving the capital markets, separately managed accounts (SMAs) and collective investment trusts (CITs). ICI’s mission is to strengthen the foundation of the asset management industry for the ultimate benefit of the long-term individual investor.

Essential functions

  • Serves as a project manager in partnership with the Creative Director and other ICI staff to develop and design visual concepts that support current policy themes, communications standards, and consistent ICI branding.
  • Design visually appealing digital content while considering budget, timing, and resources.
  • Designs and develops complex graphics and illustrations for use in statistical research publications and social media postings.
  • Creates and manipulates illustrations and photographs for use in digital applications and publications.
  • Creates fully realized creative concepts and assets–including animations, audio, and video–that are on brand, strategically focused, and posed for success.
  • Collaborates with outside vendors and partners on projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Credentials

  • Undergraduate degree in graphic design or related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years graphic design experience or equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in design and video production in agency or in-house settings.
  • Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Expertise in audio and video editing software (Premiere Pro, After Effects).
  • Ability to shoot and edit video content
  • Skilled in creating motion graphics
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Team player who can work with staff at all levels in a collaborative environment.
  • Self-starter and independent worker with the ability to organize, coordinate, and deliver multiple projects on time with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable adapting to different work paces, from steady progress on long-term projects to fast turnaround times for urgent assignments.
  • Knowledge of HTML and related software used in the building of online and digital communications.
  • Experience working with data visualizations
  • Experience working with trade associations, public affairs, or political entities, and/or highly regulated industries.

Compensation is based on several factors, including but not limited to, qualifications for the position, experience, education, and internal peer compensation comparisons. Base pay is one component of ICI’s total compensation, which also includes healthcare benefits, generous 401(k) plan, transit subsidy, and paid leave.
