We’re seeking a highly skilled Senior UI/UX Designer & Front‑End Developer to lead the creative and technical direction of a growing eCommerce platform. This individual will blend design innovation with technical execution to craft visually engaging, high‑performing, and user‑friendly digital experiences. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for design, a deep understanding of front‑end technologies, and the ability to translate complex business goals into elegant and intuitive web interfaces.

Worksite Location: Minneapolis, MN – hybrid (3 days onsite each week)

Pay Range: Up to $120K. No C2C or work visa sponsorship available.

Roles & Responsibilities

Design & User Experience

• Lead the full lifecycle of UX and UI design – from research, wireframes, and prototypes to polished production visuals.
• Develop and maintain scalable design systems and reusable component libraries that align with brand identity and business goals.
• Conduct user testing and leverage data‑driven insights to enhance engagement, accessibility, and conversion.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to translate marketing and product strategies into cohesive customer experiences.

Front‑End Development

• Implement responsive and high‑performance web interfaces using HTML5, CSS (SASS/LESS), and JavaScript frameworks.
• Work closely with backend developers to integrate APIs, optimize page rendering, and enhance functionality.
• Continuously improve website performance, load speed, and accessibility across browsers and devices.
• Customize and evolve front‑end themes within the eCommerce framework to align with evolving design and UX strategies.

Visual & Brand Execution

• Elevate the brand’s online presence through refined visual design, typography, motion, and interactivity.
• Ensure consistency and polish in all digital touchpoints to deliver a premium, design‑forward experience.
• Stay up to date on modern design trends, emerging tools, and front‑end best practices to maintain a competitive digital edge.

Collaboration & Leadership

• Partner with marketing, engineering, and product teams to deliver unified, high‑quality web experiences.
• Work with external vendors or contractors when specialized expertise is required.
• Provide mentorship and guidance on UX/UI principles, design quality, and front‑end development standards.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of combined experience in UI/UX design and front‑end web development, ideally in eCommerce or a design‑centric digital environment.
• Advanced proficiency with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and modern prototyping tools such as Framer or InVision.
• Expert‑level understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/ES6, and front‑end frameworks (experience with Magento, Knockout.js, Require.js, or PWA development a plus).
• Strong grasp of responsive design, accessibility compliance, and web performance optimization.
• Proven success in building or maintaining scalable design systems for large, complex digital platforms.
• Exceptional visual design sensibility and attention to detail across layout, typography, and interaction.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and project management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Computer Science, Human‑Computer Interaction, or related discipline preferred.
• Creative problem solver with both artistic and technical acumen, capable of bringing digital craftsmanship to life.
