UX Designer

We supply a wide range of ocean monitoring sensor systems and the corresponding digital solutions. Our newest digital cloud‑based product, Blue Insight, bridges the gap between world‑class sensors and world‑class scientists.

Blue Insight creates value for our customers through software deployed to USV, AUV, offshore fish farms, research vessels, and cloud. We strive for the high level of automation required in a world that is increasingly autonomous while also keeping humans in the loop.

About the Role

We are looking for a UX Designer to join our multidisciplinary team and help shape intuitive, user‑centered experiences for our edge and cloud‑based platforms. You will work closely with product managers, developers, and domain experts to design solutions that simplify complex workflows for maritime and subsea operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design user interfaces for web and desktop applications used in marine and offshore environments.
  • Create designs that maximize situational awareness.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and stakeholder workshops to inform design decisions.
  • Develop user journeys and flows, wireframes, prototypes, and design specifications using tools like Figma.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure design consistency and implementation quality.
  • Contribute to and maintain design systems and UI pattern libraries aligned with OpenBridge and maritime UX standards.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in UX/UI design for complex systems or industrial applications.
  • Proficiency in Figma, Sketch, or similar design tools.
  • Strong understanding of user‑centered design principles and accessibility standards.
  • Ability to work in cross‑functional teams and communicate design concepts effectively.
  • Strong research and analytical skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Good proficiency in English, written and oral.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with maritime, offshore, or industrial domains.
  • Familiarity with OpenBridge design guidelines.
  • Knowledge of front‑end technologies (HTML, CSS, React or Angular) is a plus.
  • Information architecture and content strategy.
