About the Position

This position is perfect for an individual with entry‑level video editing experience, an interest in writing and producing digital videos, strong time management, and a desire to learn in a fast‑paced and ever‑changing environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Providing research assistance, fact checking and copy editing for video scripts
• Reviewing and checking video edits for quality control
• Creating and copy editing closed captioning files for all long‑form videos
• Assisting Video Editors in organizing and reviewing footage for short documentary projects
• Reviewing interview transcripts and identifying strong soundbites for producers
• Source and verify data, reports, and academic studies to strengthen editorial narratives.
• Identify important, underreported stories and provide summaries with key statistics, expert perspectives, and historical context.
• Monitor and analyze news trends, policy developments, and public sentiment.
• Performing administrative duties
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet expected deadlines
• Maintain high standard of work in a nimble, fast paced environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Experience/Qualifications

• Experience with Adobe Premiere desired;
• Documentary, journalism, and/or political experience;
• Producing, scripting, research or development experience a plus;
• Familiarity with national politics and labor issues;
• A passion for economic justice and workers rights;
• Strong understanding of social media, email etiquette and exceptional interpersonal communication skills;
• Studied or currently studying in journalism, communications, film, marketing, public relations or related field;
• Available full‑time hours and ability to excel in a remote - work from home environment;
• Ability to operate in a nimble environment.
