Technical Writer – Sierra Pacific Industries

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to create and maintain clear, accurate documentation for our window and door products. This role supports customers, installers, sales teams, and internal staff by delivering user‑friendly technical content.

Responsibilities

• Develop installation guides, product specs, troubleshooting manuals, maintenance instructions, and sales support materials.
• Collaborate with engineering, product development, sales, and manufacturing teams to gather technical data.
• Tailor content for diverse audiences including installers, contractors, homeowners, and internal teams.
• Maintain and update documentation for consistency and brand alignment.
• Create basic diagrams and visuals to support written content.
• Edit and proofread for clarity, accuracy, and style compliance.
• Integrate feedback to improve documentation quality.
• Help refine documentation standards and templates.
• Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of technical writing experience, preferably in manufacturing or construction.
• Strong writing and communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CMS, and graphic design is a plus.
• Detail‑oriented, organized, able to work independently or in a team.
