Staffbase GmbH
Product Design Manager - Content Job at Staffbase GmbH in New Bremen
Staffbase GmbH, New Bremen, OH, US, 45869
We’re hiring a Product Design Manager to lead the team building Content Designer—Staffbase’s creation tool that helps communicators generate, adapt, and refine content across channels. You’ll report to the VP of Product Experience and operate as a player‑coach:
Coach: mentor, and develop a high‑impact team of Product Designers.
Player: stay hands‑on for the product to set the quality bar and accelerate delivery.
You’ll partner closely with a Group PM, Engineering Manager(s), and collaborators across Data, Research, and Customer teams to deliver an intuitive, trustworthy, and efficient creation experience.
What you’ll be doing
Manage 6 Product Designers; set goals, run critique, and invest in craft and career growth
Define the long‑term UX strategy for Content Designer (creation → editing → review → publish), aligned with business outcomes and product vision
Ensure Content Designer is built as an AI-native experience—where generative capabilities, human‑in‑the‑loop review, and adaptive guidance are embedded into the core workflows rather than bolted on
Take on high‑leverage projects (e.g., new creation flows, evaluation UX, or cross‑channel adaptation) to unblock and model standards
Establish patterns for prompts, tone/voice controls, content structure, and accessibility; contribute to (and consume from) our design system
Define success metrics (quality, time‑to‑first‑draft, adoption, latency tolerance, trust signals) and use experiments to improve them
Ensure Content Designer integrates seamlessly with planning, approvals, and publishing across Staffbase channels
Bring insights from research and customer‑facing teams into clear product decisions; communicate progress to stakeholders and leadership
What you need to be successful
6+ years in Product/UX Design with 3+ years leading designers on cross‑functional teams
Portfolio showing end‑to‑end product thinking and hands‑on craft in complex tools or creation workflows
Comfortable operating at two levels: hands‑on in the details of design craft when needed, and strategic in shaping vision, systems, and team direction
Strength in systems thinking (pattern libraries, information architecture, accessibility)
Proven track record aligning design strategy with product and business outcomes
Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
Experience with evaluation frameworks for AI‑assisted features (human‑in‑the‑loop review, quality ratings, prompt patterns)
Familiarity with governance & trust topics (auditability, transparency, error handling)
Experience designing or AI‑assisted experiences (e.g., editors, assistive suggestions, templating, or automation) is a huge plus
Background working across multi‑channel publishing products
Empathy, curiosity, and a bias for action
