Senior Producer - On Balance (DC) Nexstar Media Group, Inc. is looking for a Senior Broadcast Producer to assist in the production of the weekday primetime program On Balance. The senior broadcast producer will play a key role in devising the editorial and booking strategy, coordinating show production, managing complex field shoots, and supporting the overall production team. Responsibilities Assist executive producer and anchor in setting the show’s editorial direction. Pitch story ideas and make guest booking suggestions. Build rundowns for regular programming, breaking news, and special programming. Coordinate the team: line producers, associate producers, writers, editors, and other staff. Write scripts and produce own segments. Copy‑edit scripts and content. Manage editorial relationships and collaboration with other teams. Implement training and best practices for the show team. Provide ongoing mentoring and support to members of the show team. Serve as on‑site senior producer during field shoots or remote broadcasts. Perform special projects and other duties assigned by network management. Act as Executive Producer in their absence. Requirements & Skills Ten or more years of editorial experience in a fast‑paced national news program (broadcast, cable, or digital). Line‑producing and segment‑producing experience (plus). Self‑directing, self‑motivated, and able to work with a diverse group of people. Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills. Excellent writing and copy‑editing skills. Experience in field producing. Ability to handle high‑pressure, high‑intensity situations with poise and maturity. Availability for assigned shifts, overnight, morning, weekends, and holidays. Salary Range $150,000 – $170,000 annually.
