Job Overview
Communications Officer Trainee (full-time) within the 911 Public Safety Communications department of the Liberty County Board of Commissioners.
Responsibilities
- Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and prioritize dispatch.
- Accurately track police, fire, and EMS personnel in the CAD system for twelve-hour shifts.
- Provide CPR instructions and pre-arrival medical instruction to callers.
- Remain on extended calls to assist callers and responding units during high intensity calls.
- Coordinate mutual aid to and from outside agencies.
- Enter and monitor data in the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) and National Crime Information Center (NCIC) networks.
- Participate in mandatory EOC activation during natural disasters.
- Perform basic office tasks and related duties.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Age 18 or older.
- Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute.
- Multi-tasking and quick decision making skills.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal communication and relations skills.
- No felony or misdemeanor convictions that create a pattern of disregard for the law.
